IT Association is meant for the students of IT for their growth and development; it conducts in-house technical, management and ethical events. Societal empowerments like women’s day celebrations, orphanage visit, monetary support to poor patient, blood donation & celebrations including onam, Christmas, welcome, farewell etc are also done by the association.
IT ScReW :- IT Students’ Creative Resource Enrichment Window
"IT ScReW" Initiated by the students of IT, aims to promote technical talks on latest developments in IT, Entrepreneur activities, Hardware & Networking, Multimedia, Animation & Web development, Craft- work, Literature, Dance, Music, Acting, Sports & Yoga. The Office bearer takes the initiative to conduct programs under the aforesaid CREW, supported by the faculty & staff.
More on Programming Languages
An exclusive aptitude training programme in Python & C language is conducted. Laboratories are kept open beyond the working hours for doing practice on basic languages. Department offers three tiers of C programming classes: Beginner: Entry-level courses focus on the language’s capacities, functions, and limitations. Intermediate: Students get hands-on with C. Experienced: Advanced courses to develop real time applications.
Department of IT took initiative to share knowledge for the transformation of individual under the Waves of Mango tree planted in front of the department. The platform is meant basically for the students and mentors to uphold & bridge the gap between the academia & industry culture. The session is conducted every week for an hour. Students are given opportunity to unleashed their idea’s & talents.
Digital India Week
The vision of Digital India week at IT Department aims at inclusive growth in areas of electronic services, products, manufacturing and job opportunities etc. Every year IT Department conducts session to impart digital movement among the students.
The Spoken Tutorial Project began with funding from the National Mission on Education through ICT of the MHRD. Our department for digital divide track has contributed tutorial on “CGPA Grading System” & for “Java Programming Track”: Java interface, static variables, methods & blocks. Since its inception altogether around 256 students were trained in the department.
IT Incubation @ TBI AJCE : Startupsvalley
Department of IT has empowered to acquire space in @ TBI- AJCE Startupsvalley with a newly formed company named Leopard Tech Labs Pvt Ltd – A Research and Innovations company. The company works under TBI, Sartupsvalley AJCE approved, supported and promoted by Department of science and Technology, Govt of India. We recruit bright students who can join the company as a part-time employee from 2nd year onwards. IT students can do their projects in the real time environment and get vast exposure during their course.
Technical Excellence for Placement
Mock interviews, presentation skills, subject knowledge test and GDs are conducted on a regular basis so as to equip final and pre-final year students to face the challenges of the recruitment scenario.
FOSSE Outreach Workshop
The workshop Free and Open Source Software for education is conducted every year for the students of IT for free. We offer spoken tutorial workshops, online assessments in LINUX, C/ C++, Java, MySQL/PHP, Python etc. Students who complete the course and examination successfully get digital certificate from IIT Bombay. Students are also encouraged to join MOOC courses leading them to understand & think out of the box.
Centre for Machine Learning (CML)
Most of the final year projects are carried out in this lab. Students are trained by the faculty on various languages & packages till third year. Based on the area of interest students do their academic projects on recent trends like IoT , Data Analytics & Android App Development etc.
Information Technology Department follows a continuous system of personality and conduct appraisal and mentoring where 15 to 20 students are mentored by a faculty member, each semester. The progress of each student is monitored under a set of desirable and observable personality and character traits.
